RE: How many tow with GM 6L gasser?

If you tow with a Chev/GMC 6L gas engine: --2008 Chevy 2500 HD, 6L w/6SPD Hydramatic 1) How much weight do you tow? --8K, soon to be nearly 9K with 5th wheel 2) Do you tow mainly on flat ground or also over mountain passes? --Flats are great, mountians aren't bad, don't be affraid to get some rev's on the tach!! This engine love's to rev. 3) If steep hills, is that engine adequate? --It's not a Duramax but I didn't pay 4K extra for the engine 4) What mileage do you get towing? --9MPG 5) What mileage when not towing? --16 average, as high as 18 in flats.

RE: should underbelly sag?!

How bad is it? My Sunnybrook has no water leak but the underbelly does the wave from front to back. I think it's just sloppy installation at the factory, the material is just a think coroplastic lining. I guess like everything it's hard to say from here how much sag is normal and what is past evidence of water damage.

RE: Max Sport by R-Vision

I use to hear a lot of negatives about R-Vision products on here. They were bought out by Monaco Coach about 4 years ago if I remember correctly. I don't read to much about them on here - so they can't be half bad! I would try to inspect some locally before buying one online, this will allow you to see if they have indeed improved. I think they have a owners site too, perhaps they can be of some help?

RE: When Is the Right Time to Upgrade?

Whatever you decide the choice to sell and upgrade will be a easier pill to swallow as long as you sell the unit yourself. This will ensure you recieve the most for your current unit and that you can walk in on a "wholesale" deal elsewhere. If you can price your unit right through craigslist.com, EBay, local swap/trade magazine's, etc. and then buy from a "wholesaler" you can make out well. I have traded/sold every few years, but that's industry average.

RE: ROO 19 - What to do?

Everyone tells posters to "move on" or "calm down" until it's their 15K rotting piece of junk in the driveway. Then it's different.

RE: Best route to Cape Cod

Yes, the best route to Cape Cod is the one in the opposite direction of traffic. Sadly, little can be done to fix the roads to/from the Cape, so you will likely have to "grin and bear it" as they say. Have a nice trip and allow for plenty of time. If you can leave on a low traffic day (mid-week), then do so! If you are heading there on a Friday or leaving on a Sunday you are in for traffic.

RE: Air Conditioner NOT FIXED

We had friends that waited 3 weeks for them to install new tires on a 1 year old Keystone as a warranty repair. I would say if they have a hard time changing tires then anything electrical is far beyond their reach. Get a local RV tech to perform this.

RE: CROSSROADS SEVILLE "GELCOAT"

I would certianly agree with you on the sofa, if NO leather is on it then you need a rebate. As I posted earlier, typically at least the seating surface is leather.

RE: FREE Camper?

While I think everyone has the original poster in mind the fact that everyone is stating they don't have a leaking hybrid isn't what the person was asking........ There are plenty that have/do leak. A quick look at the campground in Conway, NH this weekend and there were several 3 to 5 year old hybrids in the park. Better then half of them had delaminating front bunk doors, obvious to the wife and I as a "bulge" or warp effect in the fiberglass. They all seemed to leak in the same place, lower left or right corners of the doors. Good luck, I say have the factory fix this. If you do decide to get another perhaps kellem has it right - try another brand.

RE: Looking for a lite weight TT

This is a huge market with lots of brands that are well known. You have units with laminate 1 piece walls and units with "hung walls", wall thickness from 1" to 2" thick and warranties from 1 year to 2 year + a structual warranty up to 5 years. Some of the better units, IMHO are the Crossroads Sunset Trail. They have a lite weight construction, crowned roof (not flat like others), hung 2" walls, real plywood (not a foam and laminated floor), 2 year bumper to bumper and a 5 year structual warranty. You will also want to look at the North Trail light weight made my Heartland. These have similar premium construction methods to the Crossroads, checkout the North Trail site on Heartlands main page, they have a picture/video show that rips apart the construction mentods of others. Good luck!

RE: CROSSROADS SEVILLE "GELCOAT"

Typical to have standard baggage doors, it wouldn't stop me from taking delivery. Since even BMW & Mercedes have "leatherette" seats and so does my wife's 40K Avalanche with ONLY the seating surface being real leather I'd say it's industry standard. Are you considering refusing the unit and looking elsewhere?

RE: FREE Camper?

The factory certianly didn't make that offer - sounds like a dealer trying to make a profit from your issues. So let me get this right, the dealer is only going to give you 6K for your current trailer and you give them 9K for a new one?? Sounds fishy to me, a new one at RVW is only 14-15K for the average ROO!!Gee, they might as well sell you a lake in Gobe Desert... I would call Forest River directly and make them take the unit back and rebuild the rear door and any damage. It's not like leaking bunkends aren't well documented on this website.

RE: Trouble for RV industry!

Well this has turned into CNN real quick! I realize the market is tough right now, but everyone after 9/11 got stuck-in-a-rut with the news organization's predicting the death of America and WWIII. We all need to remain positive, buy American when possible and car pool, reduce silly consumption of oil products. Switch to wood and wood pellet products to help with the heating of your home, that will save you some $$ this winter. I think when this is all over we will have a stronger market and Country.

RE: Cruiser 30sk

We have ordered a 31SB and the owners forum was quite helpful. From my perspective (shopper) they were better insulated when ordered with the "insulation package"then nearly everything in the lite market. The R-value is some cases is nearly twice others. Also, the hung wall construction, features and options allow you to take a mid level unit and add things that are rare in this price range like dual-pane windows, air suspension, etc.

RE: Not So Good Experience with RV Wholesalers Today

I believe the title to be complete. RVW is a decent group to buy a trailer at wholesale but I would say that they are tight on time or every unit they prep for delivery. Sorry for the hassle but it seems that the trailer has made you smile - that counts for something.

RE: Jayco 299RLS

If the model is a Eagle Superlite and is a early built 08' you may want to confirm with Jayco using the vin# that it wasn't affected by the delaminating floor issue several people had. Basically, the glue lets go, the laminated floor starts to seperate creating a ridge in the floor and soft spots. Overall as DURACO said, Jayco is one of several very good brands in that price point. I would also shop Crossroads, Pilgrim, Sunnybrook and other's.

RE: Extended Mirrors Towing package

If you have a 2007 then you have the same mirror's on all of GM's 900 platform. Cipa makes a great pair of slip-on exact fit mirror's. I bought mine oneline and becuase of the fit they don't vibrate or move while in transit. I paid $70 on EBay shipped to my door. Contact CIPA and they can provide you the model #.

RE: Tank capacity - Jayco 213

If you are dry camping you may want to get a extra tank or look at another brand. However, if you will be camping in a CG with a dump station, honey wagon service or full hookups then the tank size really doesn't matter at all. My wife and I have 2 kids, so there's no dry camping. We have to shower the two little dirt-loving brat's nightly! ;)

RE: Getting our new 5'er from RVW tomorrow!

Great! We pickup our Cruiser next month. There are some changes to the "freshly built" 2009 models. Checkout my thread on the Cruiser owner's site. They include standard external speakers & Equa-Flex suspension, darker tones to the carpet/counter, richer looking oak cabinets & more. Let us know how it goes!
